What is it?
The newborn cover for the KO-COON Merino Nesting Pod. Made from soft, stretchy double-knit (interlock) cotton, it ties up and over the border to draw the pod into a gentle hammock shape that keeps your baby contained and soothed from their earliest days.

Who is it for?
Babies from birth until they begin to roll on their own, usually around 3–4 months. In this stage the tied shape supports back (supine) sleep and gently deters rolling. Always for supervised rest, alongside the usual safe-sleep basics.

Can I use it as a slipcover too — and what if I don't want my baby sleeping in the nest overnight?
Yes. The nest cover is made from stretchy double-knit (interlock), so as well as tying into the nest shape, it also fits neatly over the mattress as a slipcover. That gives you a reassuring option: if you'd rather your baby didn't sleep in the nest shape overnight, simply take the border out and use the nest cover as a slipcover on the flat merino mattress. Your baby then sleeps on a firm, flat surface — with the same breathable merino and cotton — and you can bring the border and nest shape back for supervised daytime rest and closeness. (A slipcover, by contrast, is a single-jersey sheet with no stretch, so it can't be used to form a nest.)

What colours does it come in?
Milky White, Grey Marl, Navy, Fudge, Sky Blue, Blossom Pink, Matcha Green, Mocha Brown and Black (made to order). Swapping colours is the easy way to refresh your nest without buying a whole new pod.

Do I need more than one?
Your pod comes with one newborn cover included, and most parents keep a spare — one on the nest, one in the wash — because spills and leaks are part of newborn life.
